Hello to all my incoming students and their families. I first began my teaching career at St. Joseph School in Long Beach, California. I spent two years teaching middle school for the Sisters of St. Louis. I then moved to St. Mel’s School in Woodland Hills, California. I taught middle school there for five years before starting my family and, subsequently moving to Reno, Nevada. In 1983, I began teaching at Our Lady of the Snows School, teaching middle school language arts, history, and religion. I spent ten years there as a middle school teacher and then was hired as the principal. I led the school as their principal for twelve years and then decided to retire. HA, HA. My retirement lasted only one year and, in 2005, I came to Little Flower. I have a long history at Little Flower because my children both spent eight years here. I LOVE LITTLE FLOWER AND I LOVE MY STUDENTS. I LOVE TEACHING. IT IS WHAT KEEPS ME ALIVE.
Eighth (8th) Grade Homeroom
Mrs. Mandy Flocchini
Sixth-Eighth (6th – 8th) Grade Science
The 2021-2022 school year will be my eighth year at Little Flower! Twelve years prior to working at LFS, I had been volunteering at Little Flower because my mother was the kindergarten teacher at that time (currently our first grade teacher, Mrs. Albert). After graduating from the University of Nevada with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Secondary Education, I worked in an environmental laboratory for several years. I am a middle school homeroom teacher as well as the 6th, 7th and 8th grade science and STEM teacher. I have always loved science and am excited to be blessed with the opportunity to share my love with so many enthusiastic science students!
Sixth-Eighth (6th-8th) Grade Social Studies
Mr. Keith Lightfoot
This is me, Mr. Lightfoot! I am a life-long resident of the Reno-Sparks area. After attending public schools in Sparks, I earned my degree in education from the University of Nevada with a major in History and a minor in Psychology. I have been teaching middle school at Little Flower for 20 years (Whoa!!). When not teaching, I can be found coaching football at Sparks High School in the fall, umpiring high school baseball in the spring, doing an occasional acting gig in local productions, spending as much time as possible at our my family’s cabin at Lake Tahoe in the summer, and basically just trying to stay warm during the winter. I am a Raiders and an A’s fan, as well as a fan of the Wolf Pack. I am also a huge life-long fan of the Golden State Warriors and of Ohio State football.

My name is Shannon Garner. This is my fourth year teaching at LFS. I taught in the Washoe County School District for 10 years before moving to LFS.
Sixth-Eighth (6th-8th) Grade Honors Math
Mr. Mike Evans
I have been the middle school math and PE teacher at Little Flower School since 2001. At Little Flower School, we strive for your children to be educated and nurtured by enhancing and facilitating the growth of their minds, souls, and bodies. It is my hope that your children will be excited to learn and yearn to be active physically.

Yearbook
I love learning new digital tools and using technology. I volunteer with several organizations in our community and most recently joined btc (Boys Team Charity) as a founding philanthropy board chair. I lived in Japan for a year where I attended Josai High School. I attended the University of Oregon and double majored in Japanese and History, receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree. I am currently working on my ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Certification and plan to complete it in 2021. I have worked for NASA, Cisco Systems, Microsoft and a local elementary school for 2 years before finding my home at Little Flower Catholic School last year as a teachers aide in Kindergarten.
I am very excited to introduce a Computer Science program to Little Flower Catholic School. We will be implementing the Nevada Computer Science and Integrated Technology Standards this year. Students will focus on becoming responsible digital citizens, coding and exploring other digital tools which will help to improve learning outcomes.
